Jon is a seasoned consultant, executive, and venture financier. Jon started his career with General Motors as an engineer and at the age of 31 became the youngest General Manager/Plant Manager in GM history running a $900 mm components Division. Later as Chief Operating Officer for a major international Division of Cabot Corporation he ran manufacturing operations throughout Europe and Asia.
Jon eventually became a CEO of a mid-market consumer goods company where his team grew sales from $12MM to $81MM in a six-year period and increased market cap from $3.6 to $130 MM.
In 2002, Jon decided to take this vast knowledge and experience and work closely with Private Equity firms, start-ups and Fortune 500 companies. In this role he worked with Senior Management to develop creative business strategies, lead financing efforts and provide leadership in evaluating and implementing over 25 strategic Mergers and Acquisitions.
While Jon’s background makes him ideal to work with all legal practices his strong engineering, business development and marketing background is a natural fit for assisting Intellectual Property Practices and individual IP attorneys further develop, quantify and communicate their strategic business plans. He has the unique skill to turn ideas into business plans and business plans into strong strategic and cohesive matches that clearly recognize a firm’s culture and business needs and provides the ideal IP candidate(s) to assure success.
Jon’s greatest source of pride comes from his close association with Dr. W.E. Deming, the father of Japanese lean production techniques. Jon worked closely with Dr. Deming from 1982 until his death in 1993.
